Civil engineers are the backbone of development, without civil engineer we can’t imagine sustainable and effective development of nation. They are responsible for the constructions like dams, buildings, tunnels, bridges, highways, airports, irrigation, water supply and sanitary system and other form of infrastructure that has become a part of our daily life. Engineers are the problem solvers and have always faced the challenges of thinking about the future, advancing civilization and improving our quality of life. There is huge demand for civil engineers or diploma in civil engineers in Nepal and it is also expected to get a boost as the country gets ready to upgrade its infrastructure with growing economic and political clout in the world.
The beauty of civil engineering is that it gives you an opportunity to plant wings to your dreams. Civil engineers conceive, plan, design, construct, operate and maintain infrastructure projects and system in public as well as in the private sector. Various fields in government sector offer jobs for civil engineer or sub-engineers like Department of Roads, Department of Irrigations, Department of Water supply and Sanitary System Management, Infrastructure Development office, Nepal Electricity Authority, Civil Aviation Authority Nepal, Municipality and so many government related office. In private sector, jobs for civil engineer offered in construction and design. A civil engineering with the knowledge of AutoCAD, Saps, ETAB and any design related software, estimating and costing, valuation, etc. The scope is the highest in Developing countries like Nepal because the needs to expand their infrastructures like road, rail, bridges, hydropower, irrigation, water and Sanitary structure, etc.
Civil engineers thus play a pivotal role in shaping the economy of a country. With civil engineering practices affecting every area of the built environment, today we acknowledge the growing importance of a very diverse specialism within the infrastructure industry. Among all branches of engineering, the range and application of civil engineering is the broadest and most visible. For the Developing country like Nepal, civil engineering or diploma in civil engineering is the best profession. There are huge scope of civil engineering for the development of country and prosperity of country and people.
